Aberdeen Days Out have plenty of attractions to choose from. Made prosperous by the oil industry, Aberdeen sits on the north east coast of Scotland is is unique in Scotland for the range and diversity of cultures to be found in its boundaries. It is a beautiful city and, despite what many people believe, gets a lot of sunshine all year round which allows you to take advantage of the many award winning parks and gardens that it boasts.
The more adventurous among us are also well catared for with the new Transition Extreme arena located on the beach front. Which brings us to Aberdeen Beach. Famous in the 1900's as a holiday hotspot, the beach is still very popular with locals and sports a fantastic wide boulevard perfect for roller skating, cycling or just enjoying a walk in the brisk sea air.
There are also a number of very high quality family attractions ranging from the high-tech thrills of Codonas Amusement Park to the ancient history of Archaeolink prehistory park just outside the City. Kids, and adults, who enjoy science can also visit Satrosphere in the city centre.
Culture vultures will be pleased to learn that Aberdeen also has several museums of note including James Duns House, Provost Skenes House and the Maritime museum, and of course His Majestys Theater provides a year round selection of music and entertainment ranging from opera to west end shows.
Moving further afield, there is a huge selection of high quality day trip attractions to be found. Of course, to the West you have Royal Deeside, complete with Balmoral Castle - the favorite retreat of the Royal Family. Further to the north you have the world famous Whisky Trail which is always popular among lovers of the amber tipple. If you enjoy a game of golf then you have many top quality courses from which to choose. There are established courses such as Duff House Royal and Royal Aberdeen, and when the new Trump course at Balmedie is finished it will be one fo the best links courses in the world.
Aberdeen is also a natural gateway to the Cairngorm Mountains, which are now amazingly popular for skiiers and other winter sports enthusiasts. In recent years the snow levels have been fantastic and resorts such as Glenshee, and the Lecht are now as good as Alpine resorts, but they are far cheaper. Of course, if you enjoy fishing then the River Dee provides some of the best quality salmon fishing in the world.
